Open Match Review
Heronbrook
3rd June 2003.
This was the first Talkangling match for some time, due to one reason or another. Heronbrook was chosen because it is any easy place to get to, being close to the M6 and the fishing can be exceptional. My expectations for the event were very high as the first round of the UK champs were round the corner and Neil, the fishery owner, had been working very hard to get everything ready.
Neil had recently dug out a new pool and had extended the canal. He had reinforced the banks in places and in doing so had narrowed some of the pegs making them a maximum 14.5 metre reach which, in some places was a reduction of 5 metres or more. Overall more friendly to the pole angler.
Twelve anglers arrived to fish the match and it was nice to put some names to faces at long last. Lets introduce them to you.
